Australian entertainer Jamie Dunn, the Brisbane broadcaster and voice behind the puppet Agro, died on Saturday in Queensland, drawing tributes across Australian media because his television and radio work helped define children’s programming and breakfast radio for decades. Dunn was 76, according to ABC News. He was a long-running host on Brisbane’s B105 breakfast program and became known nationwide through Agro’s Cartoon Connection on the Seven Network, where the puppet Agro became a fixture of Australian television in the 1990s. The Guardian reported he co-hosted the city’s top-rated breakfast show for 16 years. His former co-host Jill Ray said he was “a really interesting man ... extremely talented, funny.” She added, “Some would say he was my partner in crime on TV.” In a separate tribute, Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said Agro’s Cartoon Connection was “a daily dose of chaos, laughter and cheeky humour” for children who grew up in the 1980s and 1990s. Dunn began in entertainment in the 1960s as a drummer before moving into radio and television. Agro
